Can't restore uninstalled apps on Android.

Wait! I have a very similar problem with an SM-G532M (Android 6.0.1). UAD can't enable, nor restore, packs. I can only use ADB to uninstall disabled/enabled apps. It also happens with non-system built-in apps like OneDrive (com.microsoft.skydrive)

pkg: modify description of `com.samsung.android.securitylogagent`

I found an official link, and an HTG post, about it. We should probably add those links

It doesn't uninstall updates

Describe the bug When uninstalling an app, it doesn't remove the updated version, so it keeps using storage, despite being unused.

I noticed this when using UAD to uninstall com.samsung.android.forest from my SM-A315G, then restoring that package, then going to the apps list in Android settings.

Expected behavior It should replace the selected packages by their factory versions, before uninstalling.

You have a solution? Currently, I have no idea. But it should be possible.

UAD log (I don't have it now)

"Samsung Security Log Agent" is also responsible for "permission monitor"

Your phone: SM-J327VPP

Packages documentation to update:

com.samsung.android.securitylogagent

Documentation chage

com.samsung.android.securitylogagent

Current description

Security Log Agent https://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-note-9-disable-security-log-agent/ Run in the background and monitore your device for any change to the /system partition. NOTE : When you root your phone, it will constantly tell you that your device is modified.

Proposed description

Security Log Agent https://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-note-9-disable-security-log-agent Run in the background and monitor your device for any change to the /system partition. It also listens for use of permissions by 3rd-party apps. This is a feature found in Security settings, named "permission monitor" NOTE : When you root your phone, it will constantly tell you that your device is modified.

I noticed the connection between these 2, because of the occasional notifications when "suspicious" activity was detected

Not able to uninstall disabled apps

I tried this manually (with ADB on terminal), and it works on Android 12! IDK about other versions

`Package.id` shouldn't be an arbitrary `String`

I realized there's another benefit: tests. We could add a GH workflow/action that validates package-IDs in the uad_lists.json file

`Package.id` shouldn't be an arbitrary `String`

I was reading this, and I think the code could benefit from a special subset type of String (similar to Rust's Path). The name could be AndroidPackageId.

I'm planning opening a PR, to add a fn that validates Strings and returns Result<AndroidPackageId>. The validation algorithm is a simple regex.

I'm not sure if the fn should be "standalone" or implemented as a trait

Display application name in addition to package name

Another option is to unzip the AndroidManifest.xml from the APK, then parse it. But in most cases, it's raw-binary-XML, so it needs a special parser. IDK if aapt already does this

pkg: update description of `com.android.stk` and `com.android.stk2`

Or do you mean we should use the neededBy field for that?

Not necessarily. I just thought of adding it to the description

I believe that field will no longer be there anymore in the future, see: https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater/wiki#how-to-contribute

Oh :( . Well, we can avoid using it here.

BTW, I think we should wait before merging this PR. We need more info by other users, to see if this is a device-specific thing, or something that happens on all Androids
